Don’t Give Up and Keep Pushing Forward

Evey achievement requires hard work and commitment. When you decide to pursue a goals, you will face many obstacles on your journey towards you goals. The difficulty of the obstacles may vary depending on your goals. No matter how hard and difficults your obstacles are, what really matters is your persistence.

When you are persistent enough you will never ever give up your goals. A student of success have to possess certain characteristics thay are a requirement for success. One of them is self discipline.

A self disciplined person is someone who does things which he has to do in order to be successful even if he or she does not want to do them. He also has to postpone his desires for the long time benefits. For example: if you are a person who likes to spend money on clothes you have to pospone this desire until you are financially secure to afford to buy them in the future. But for now you have to save money in order to invest it for your financial goals.

A self disciplined person will be able to supress his wishes and desires for a greater good. Therefore instant gratification is the greatest obstacle for someone who wants to achieve success in his life.

There was a study done to children in order to measure the relation between instant gratification and success. There were two groups. In a room were put fresh baked muffins then the children were told not to eat them now. If they waited for a period of time they would get two muffins instead of one. The scientists followed the participants for decades.

What they have found out is amazing. The children who ate the muffins immediately were the ones who were unsuccessful. On the other hand the children who were able to postpone instant gratification were the successful ones in the future. Therefore the results shows the relation of self discipline and success.

However success seem so attractive on the outside but it is full of challenges. It is like a bitter seed which has many benefits to your health but it's bitter taste makes it disgusting for most people.

Always make exercises that help you develop your self discipline and your will power. For example if you are hungry now try to pospone your urge to eat. Keep yourself hungry for two hours more. This way you will get used to postpone instant gratification urge which is a component of being successful.
